90 Days to a Stronger Community: Join the Challenge to Stir Goodness!
Welcome to the Leadership Vision Podcast, our show helping you build a positive team culture. Our consulting firm has been doing this work for the past 25 years, ensuring that leaders are mentally engaged and emotionally healthy.
In today’s fast-paced and digitally-driven world, the significance of building meaningful connections and celebrating together within our teams and communities has become increasingly vital. Today on the podcast, we’re talking about the transformative power of fostering such connections, proposing a simple yet profound challenge: to initiate a wave of goodness by strengthening bonds within our teams or families through intentional activities over the next 90 days.
The Power of Shared Celebrations
At the core of building a vibrant team or community culture is the tradition of shared celebrations. These are not just moments to acknowledge achievements but opportunities to weave a collective identity, rich in memories and mutual respect. Celebrations like chili cook-offs, friendly competitions, or even playful challenges during work initiatives exemplify how coming together in joy can enhance team dynamics and leave a lasting impact on everyone involved.
Authentic Moments of Connection
Beyond the festivities, it’s the unplanned, authentic moments that often resonate the most deeply, reminding us of our shared humanity. Instances such as glimpses into the personal lives of colleagues during virtual meetings or spontaneous laughter over minor mishaps serve as powerful reminders that, despite our roles or responsibilities, we share common experiences and challenges. These moments underscore the importance of fostering genuine connections and embracing our collective journey with empathy and openness.
Belonging is a powerful catalyst for community and team cohesion. It’s the shared experiences and the active participation in group life that forge strong bonds and a sense of inclusion. Engaging in activities that reflect shared interests or passions, from organizing community service projects to participating in group events, not only strengthens ties among members but also highlights the importance of mutual support and collaboration.
A Challenge to Stir Goodness
With these things in mind, here is our challenge to you: find and implement ways to “stir goodness” within your circle over the next 90 days. Whether it’s through participating in a charity event, organizing a community gathering, or simply sharing a meal, the goal is to create moments that bond us closer, fostering a culture of belonging, joy, and shared purpose. Such acts, no matter how small, can have a profound impact on our sense of community and well-being.
Over the next 90 days, the Leadership Vision team embarks on a meaningful journey, participating in the Susan G. Komen 5k race for a cure in Minneapolis on May 11. This event is particularly close to our hearts, as our President, Dr. Linda Schubring is a breast cancer survivor herself. This year marks a significant milestone, our 14th year joining the Race for the Cure, a testament to resilience, survival, and the collective will to end breast cancer forever. Our participation is more than just a race; it’s a vibrant gathering adorned in pink, symbolizing love, support, and unity among survivors and their loved ones.
We invite everyone, whether you’re in the Twin Cities or supporting from afar, to join the Leadership Vision Race Team or to simply cheer us on. This act of collective participation is our way of stirring goodness, creating a bond within our team and extending it to the wider community. It’s an opportunity to momentarily step away from the hustle and bustle, to celebrate life, and to honor the journey of those we work with and care for.
Join us in this heartfelt endeavor as we walk, run, and stand together in the fight against breast cancer, reminding us all that we are, indeed, in this together.
What is Your Challenge Going to Be?
By committing to engage in acts of connection and celebration, we contribute to the cultivation of a more inclusive, supportive, and united community or team. It’s through these intentional acts that we can truly appreciate the value of our connections and the strength of our collective humanity. In doing so, we not only enrich our own lives but also the lives of those around us, paving the way for a more connected and joyous world.
So what will you do in the next 90 days to connect your team? We would love to hear about it, so please drop us an email at nathan@leadershipvisionconsulting.com.
