Become a Stronger Woman of Influence
Welcome to the Leadership Vision Podcast, our show helping you build a positive team culture. Our consulting firm has been doing this work for the past 25 years, ensuring that leaders are mentally engaged and emotionally healthy.
We are excited to announce our new course designed to inspire female leaders to ponder their stories, influence, and role in writing a positive narrative with others. It’s about storytelling, becoming a stronger woman of influence, and understanding the power that lies within our own narratives. In this episode, we talk about what inspired our new course and how you can harness the power of your story. Enjoy!
Become a Stronger Woman of Influence
At Leadership Vision, we believe everyone is designed for influence and can move from potential to performance through an intentional process of self-reflection and self-actualization. Our new 3-part course, Become a Stronger Woman of Influence, will help you own and practice the power of your life story. You will be inspired to take action as you build confidence to leverage your influence.
Led by Dr. Linda Schubring, this course is designed to inspire female leaders to consider the significant components of their life’s stories and be inspired to use their power to increase their influence and positive impact on the world.
Why We Created this Course
Oftentimes, we discount that everyone overcomes hard things and has to struggle and go through difficult trying events. Instead, we can name the leadership lessons that we’ve learned in those times. We can tell our stories and craft a story to really impact others in a more powerful way.
To create this course, we started to construct some work that we’ve done to harness stories in people’s lives. It’s really a course about storytelling and the practice of crafting a story. Your personal narrative is a leadership skill. In this course, we walk through different steps to name who you are and different moments that could be a story that would compel other actions.
[A friend once shared with me] women are like lobsters. You put a bunch of women in a tank and they will claw at each other to rise to the top…don’t be a lobster.
Linda Schubring
This little adage really stuck with Linda and began to guide and shape what she was and wasn’t going to tolerate. Linda didn’t want to tolerate being in a lobster tank, and she didn’t want to create spaces and environments for women to fight and claw their way.
What we realized when we were fine-tuning the message for this course is we have to do this together. We can’t just get really good at telling my story, we have to tell our story. We have to have the courage to step forward with other women, link arms, and tell a compelling narrative to have people come to the table and be leaders as well.
The Power of Women
When women are transformed, not just as leaders, but as human beings, there’s a power to who they are as individuals that is rooted in their identity, how they were raised, and how others have shaped them. Power doesn’t mean a sense of control or being the commanding presence. Instead, it’s an invitation to see and do power differently. A place where our leadership is fueled with an ethic of love; where power looks like a partnership; where power is generous and includes others into access to make things happen.
By sharing stories, we can harness the power to model to the world what it means to do power differently. Not the power over making someone else feel small but the power that comes from underneath. If we can help women put aside positional power and begin to unearth and excavate within their own stories, their power will be unparalleled by their colleagues.
Harness the Power in Your Story
Our new course is an opportunity to start from where you are. It’s an opportunity to name the places where your power is the strongest, the brightest, or where your suffering got you to the other side. We can all tell a powerful and compelling story together.
