A Preview of what’s coming up at Leadership Vision
Welcome to the Leadership Vision Podcast, our show helping you build a positive team culture. Our consulting firm has been doing this work for the past 25 years, ensuring that leaders are mentally engaged and emotionally healthy.
Today on the Leadership Vision Podcast, we’re sharing news of three upcoming training events we’re hosting in Minneapolis in January.
First, we have our Strengths Communicator Training. This training is for individuals who want to enhance their skills to help others understand the unique behaviors of Strength. This consists of two, two days of in-person workshops, and then a host of individual interviews you’ll conduct between those two sessions. You’ll also get follow up time with one of our consultants, and walk away with a greater sense of how to help others better understand how they are wired.
This is happening in Minneapolis, Minnesota, January 16-17 & March 26-27, 2020.
The second training is our Dare to Lead™ Workshop. Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, this two-day workshop is your invitation to become a braver leader as you learn the four empirically-proven skill sets of courageous leadership: RUMBLING WITH VULNERABILITY, LIVING INTO VALUES, BRAVING TRUST, and LEARNING TO RISE.
This training is also happening in Minneapolis in January, (because who doesn’t want to come to Minnesota in January) on the 13th and 14th of 2020.
And finally, our newest training is the Team Leadership and Facilitation workshop. This professional training provides a platform to develop, sharpen, and apply your unique leadership style within a team context. Over these two days you’ll learn how to create meaningful engagement, and effectively present your message in a way that “fits” who you are.
Team Engagement
I also share a teaser trailer about a four-part series we recorded with Brian and Linda Schubring talking about the all-important topics of Collaboration, Communication, Conflict, and Change. We use these four topics, and the ideas of Knowlege, purpose, and trust, to help teams become healthier, and thrive.
What is Collaboration?
We believe it’s important for every member of a team to realize that they have a shaping influence on how a team collaborates. Each one of us has collaborative preferences and different types of people we collaborate well with. One of the reasons we choose to focus on collaboration is to help people better understand how they can collaborate together successfully and actually introduce the types of change and influence that their team needs.
What is Communication?
Whenever you get humans together, there are often communication breakdowns or communication breakthroughs! In communication, we start to shift the focus on how we’re communicating with who we are communicating with. We start to look at direct and indirect preferences and patterns to people’s communication. We don’t want people to just say a lot of words. We want there to be understanding. We want there to be the right structures in place so people are communicating better. We want people to name their preferences and be part of the solutions for improving the way that everyone is expressing themselves and being heard.
What is Conflict?
Teams are more successful in dealing with conflict if they can depersonalize the conflict. They focus on what it is that the team is actually dealing with, not individual people. If a team can successfully remove assumptions and negative connotations they have towards how a person deals with conflict, that’s the first step to dealing with conflict in a healthy way.
What is Change?
The only constant is change! But do we really understand when we are best and when we are most helpful in the change process? We spend time in this podcast talking about how people react and respond to change in a positive and negative way. We want people to not just struggle through change, but thrive through change
