Don’t Miss the Train: Get on Board with our 2017 Strengths Communicator Trainings

I spent 2004 living in Europe and have been back several times since to visit a few different countries. My first time taking a high-speed train was on a trip from Lisbon to Coimbra, Portugal on the Alfa Pendular train. With speeds up to 220 km/hr, this train gets you where you want to go…fast! High-speed trains connect two larger cities, and they whiz past smaller towns. I distinctly remember men, women, and children standing on train platforms in smaller Portuguese towns and the train whizzing past them, their hair blowing in the wind.

The phrase, “pass you by” came to mind (not the Boyz II Men song) as I recalled this experience. If something passes you by, you are not able to take advantage of the opportunities it offers. If you live in a small town in Portugal, the Alfa Pendular train passes you by, literally and figuratively. You can’t take advantage of the speedy transportation those in Braga, Porto, Coimbra, Lisbon, and Faro (the larger cities) can.

Leadership Vision is offering another opportunity to receive our Strengths Communicator Training Certification. Our summer cohort will be held June 21-22 and August 16-17 in Minneapolis.

This cohort-based model of training is specifically designed for three types of people.

• Those working inside an organization that has used Strengths and are wanting to sharpen their ability to listen for and apply Strengths within their context.
• Team leaders who desire to leverage the Strengths of everyone on their team.
• Coaches, consultants, or individuals considering a career as a Strengths professional.

Strengths Communicator Training is a small, multidisciplinary cohort, facilitated by Leadership Vision’s President, Brian Schubring, and consultant, Dr. Linda Schubring. Since we began working with StrengthsFinder in 1999, we have learned a lot about how Strengths work for the benefit individuals and teams. We want to help Strengths Professionals raise the bar, creating Strengths Based Cultures. This is an opportunity to invest in yourself to that end.

Accelerate Progress by Listening to Hear

As a Strengths professional, a listening posture is critical – trained to listen, not to speak. Strengths Communicator Training teaches professionals well-versed in Strengths, the disciplines of hearing, seeing, and understanding the behaviors and nature of Strengths. It specifically focuses on the disciplines needed to conduct a 1 to 1 conversation, as well as the professional delivery of that information in feedback sessions, group training, etc.

Strengths Communicator Training Details

The training consists of four days of in-person training at Leadership Vision headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota – June 21-22 AND August 16-17, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The interim period between the two sessions of training will be used for you to complete your “Strengths Conversations” as well as an opportunity to check-in with members of our team.
