What is Leadership Vision?
Welcome to the Leadership Vision Podcast, our show helping you build a positive team culture. Our consulting firm has been doing this work for the past 25 years, ensuring that leaders are mentally engaged and emotionally healthy.
What is Leadership Vision?
In this episode of the Leadership Vision Podcast, we release our very first videocast of a conversation with Leadership Vision CEO, Brian Schubring, from 2017. We discuss what Leadership Vision is, how we got started, a little bit of our history, some of our foundational beliefs, what were we trying to achieve as an organization, and how our work can help all types of teams thrive. Enjoy!
Our Mission
Leadership Vision uses StrengthsFinder to work with people, teams, and culture. We believe that knowing your top five Strengths is only the beginning and a person’s greatest potential lies in their ongoing exploration of talents. It’s our objective to shape culture that intentionally aligns people around a Strengths philosophy. We believe that ultimately it is within a team where people gain insight into others while sharpening their own Strengths, potential, capacity, and influence.
Knowing your Top 5 Strengths is only the beginning.
In StrengthsFinder, the 34 Strengths are representations of the talents, the very building blocks, the behaviors that go into what each Strength actually looks like, what it sounds like, and how it gets work done. We know that just knowing your top five Strengths is a great start, but it’s also really important for us to understand how an individual is approaching any given situation, their unique perspective on how they’re interpreting relationships, how they’re perceiving that they’re being understood, and how you’re interacting together.
A person’s greatest potential lies in their ongoing exploration of talents.
Talents are the identifiable behaviors of how a person thinks, how they form relationships, how they get work, done, and how they influence other people. You don’t see the name of the Strength, you actually see the behaviors of the Strength. Additionally, Strengths are not set, they are a dynamic entity of how everything understands each other. This means your talents, the very elements that are coming together to bring Strengths alive, are changing. They are adapting, growing, reassessing, and when we understand that they are dynamic, we begin to understand each other in a greater way.
It is our objective to shape culture that intentionally aligns people around a Strengths philosophy.
We’re never simply focusing on only one event or one person because we know that long-term sustainability comes through an organization’s ability to shape a culture that can support individuals. At Leadership Vision, it’s our objective to have an influence on culture. One of the ways we do this is by introducing the common language of Strengths. We know through our research that introducing a common language is one of the key elements to shaping culture and bringing people together. We also know that there is a way to increase engagement, productivity, and personal satisfaction, just through this idea of a common language.
Utilizing the language of Strengths in a team setting allows us to pause and find the beauty and brilliance each person has to offer. It gives people a lens through which they can also begin to interpret their own beauty and brilliance. When people understand each other and themselves better, they create stronger bonds and healthier relationships.
We believe that ultimately it is within a team where people gain insight into others while sharpening their own Strengths, potential, capacity, and influence.
We believe it’s within a team where you can begin to understand yourself and other people in a new way. In a functional team environment, you can work off each other and see things in yourself and in others that you may not see in any other context. We believe these relationships hold up a mirror and allow you to see yourself more clearly. It’s within the team context that you can begin to truly understand with accuracy your influence and how you influence other people. We really believe there’s something catalytic that happens when a team is focused on understanding each other and aligning that understanding towards how can we work together towards a common goal.
