What our Participants Say about Strengths Communicator Training
Welcome to the Leadership Vision Podcast, our show helping you build a positive team culture. Our consulting firm has been doing this work for the past 25 years, ensuring that leaders are mentally engaged and emotionally healthy.
Have you ever wanted to gain a deep understanding of strengths, learn how to create cultures of strength, and help others understand and articulate their strengths?
Leadership Vision has certified over 300 people as Strengths Communicators, and we are now accepting registrations for our next training! We recently asked two past cohort attendees to share how the Strengths Communicator Training impacted their lives and work.
Brian Peters and Sarah Simon shared some of their biggest takeaways, how they overcame their own apprehensions, and why others might be interested in completing this Certification process.
The Strengths Communicator Training gives you knowledge of Strengths. This knowledge helps you understand, identify and look for the nuances of the Strengths in individuals. Leadership Vision’s best gift to me was the wisdom of how to help others discover this knowledge.

What you will get out of Strengths Communicator Training
At the conclusion of any Strengths Communicator Training, participants will have:
1. Learned the Leadership Vision Philosophy and approach to Strengths.
In short, we take a descriptive and generative approach to Strengths. Strengths simply describe some things about a person. They do not prescribe them to any sort of role, job, etc. Generative is an adjective that means ‘relating to or capable of production or reproduction: the generative power of the life force.’ We also use this term to simply ask, “are your Strengths giving life to you and others?” It’s sort of obvious when this happens and also when it doesn’t.
2. Identified their personal style in conducting one-to-one conversations.
The Strengths conversation is at the heart of what we do at Leadership Vision. It is both art and science. It’s structured yet organic. There are rules, suggestions, and a lot of room to go with your gut, but it is a proven process for helping people understand what makes them unique. And the key to all of this is learning how YOU do it best!
3. Obtained the skills, knowledge, and ability to apply the learnings within their context
Context has a tremendously shaping influence on the development of Strengths. You may have a present context that doesn’t value certain Strengths of yours, so your functional order within that context may be different than the functional order of your Strengths in a relational context. The values of an organization’s culture will positively or negatively shape how a person shows up, which definitely affects their self-esteem. A negative perception of a Strength can be positive for the organizational culture, assuming they are open to learning.
4. Familiarized themselves with the complexity and behavioral nuances of each of the 34 Themes of Strength
Strengths are dynamic, always shifting, moving, growing, developing, connecting, and reconnecting. Strengths adapt and react to the shaping influences around them – the people, places, patterns, and processes in which you participate. During Strengths Communicator Training, you will begin to understand these things and what the behaviors of Strengths look like.
Not only was it fun, but it literally changed my entire worldview around Strengths. I’m forever grateful for this experience!
